The Pathways

First breath to apex

There isn't one route up, there are several. Follow a lane, or take the gear guide quiz if you're not sure where you fit.

Recreational SDI

Open Water Scuba Diver→Advanced Adventure Diver→Rescue Diver→Deep Diver Advanced Buoyancy Computer Nitrox Dry Suit Diver Wreck Diver Sidemount Diver Diver Propulsion Vehicle→Solo Diver

Open Water first; Advanced Adventure then Rescue open the pro path. Specialties slot in anywhere along the way.

Technical (depth) TDI

Open Water Scuba Diver→Nitrox Diver→Intro to Tech→Advanced Nitrox→Decompression Procedures→Helitrox / Trimix→Advanced Trimix

Past Decompression Procedures we move to helium (we do not teach deep air): Helitrox → Trimix → Advanced Trimix (to 100 m), with Extended Range for staged-deco range.

Cave & overhead TDI

Sidemount→Cavern Diver→Intro to Cave→Full Cave Diver→Stage / Cave Sidemount

Full Cave branches into Stage Cave (range) and Cave Sidemount (restrictions).

Wreck SDI / TDI

Open Water Scuba Diver→Wreck Diver→Advanced Wreck Diver

Recreational survey first, then true penetration with Advanced Wreck.

Diver propulsion (DPV) SDI / TDI

Open Water Scuba Diver→Diver Propulsion Vehicle→Technical DPV

Go pro / instructor SDI / TDI

Divemaster→Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor→Discipline instructor ratings→… up to Full Cave Instructor

Divemaster first, then the SDI Open Water Instructor rating, then stack TDI instructor ratings discipline-by-discipline (Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox, Deco, Extended Range, Sidemount, Cavern, Cave, Gas Blending).

Air Fill Station / Compressor Operator

A non-diving service certification, pairs with the Nitrox Gas Blending Instructor rating.
